The nights are cool and the trees are turning shades of red, orange and yellow… autumn is in the air in Luzerne County!

Located in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains, it is the perfect place to take in the beautiful foliage and have a little fall fun. No matter how you choose to experience the season of pumpkins, cider and spirits… Northeast Pennsylvania has something for you.

Jump in the car for a road trip through the mountains around Luzerne County to take in all the beautiful colors that autumn brings out. As you wind your way along the roads, stop to hike or bike the miles of trails or hop in a kayak and see the fall foliage from the water. As you drive, visit Wilkes-Barre, Hazleton, Pittston and all the small towns in between to find delicious restaurants, antique shops along with local wineries and breweries.

During September and October, festivals pop up all around the area offering fall fun, food and music. You can find pick a pumpkin, pick an apple then sip some cider or take a hayride around a farm.  The fall is the perfect time to explore the spookier side of local lore with ghost walks and haunted history events.
