Nothing says fall like colorful leaves, crisp mountain air and a warm cozy sweater. Nestled just down the road from the roaring waterfalls of Ricketts Glen State Park in Northeast Pennsylvania rests a little farm that weaves all those fall favorites into one place.
Falls Edge Farm is home to Elaine and Patrick and eight alpacas. Alpacas are raised like sheep for their fleece, which is popular for its warmth and soft texture. Falls Edge also has its own fiber mill onsite which is used to turn the clippings into yarn. Elaine not only processes the fiber from the alpaca on her farm, but also from farms all around the country.
Tucked under the tall trees of Falls Edge is a boutique, filled with everything to keep you warm on a cool autumn day. From sweaters and socks to hats, gloves and blankets, the boutique features warm and colorful products all made from alpaca fiber, including enough alpaca yarn to make any knitter or crocheter’s day.
Experience Falls Edge and enjoy an autumn day in the fresh country air during the farm’s Fall Festival. The festival is a chance to shop a variety of vendors with local, handmade products and even antiques. Sample some local wine and get a start on your holiday shopping.
